Hello! My name is Michal Bulak and last year I moved to the Netherlands to start as a PhD candidate at Leiden University in the Netherlands. Poland is where I grew up, the United States is where I went to school, and the beautiful city of Leiden is where I am biking around in the video above. My research during the first three years of the PhD program is a part of EUROPAH, which is an Innovative Training Network within the European Union. During my first year the focus has been on a laboratory investigation of a bottom-up approach to forming Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) in an interstellar ice analogue, as well as an upgrade to the experimental setup I work with. My supervisors in Leiden are Prof. Dr. Harold Linnartz and Prof. Dr. Xander Tielens. I love/am addicted to learning random facts, fresh coffee, throwing barbells around swimming, and can talk about food for a very long time.
